Heavenly Father

I pray that my children and grandchildren
would never know the:

Anguish of addiction
Abuse of adultery
Agony of anger
Brutality of bigotry
Burnout of bitterness
Danger of deception and
Despair of drunkenness.

Keep my children and grandchildren from:

The folly of faithlessness and
The faithlessness of folly
The grief of greed
The gloominess of gossip
The hurt of hatred and
The isolation of immorality

Protect them from the:

Misery of materialism
The pain of pride
The sorrow of stealing
The ugliness of unkindness
The virus of violence and the
Woe of worry

And help them, O Lord, and help us all –
when we fall into sin to repent quickly,
and not to persist in them.
Help us to learn from the mistakes of others.
To give up own desires and dreams
in order to follow Christ.
I ask you to bless and keep these that they would
love you and obey you and be blessed by You –
all the days of their lives.
